Hello,

We adjusted the Sunday Tomato pick time to 1:00-5:00 on the 15th. As the title suggested, we also added beans to the picking option! We have lot's of beans coming on and would love a little help getting them picked for the week. Jason will be running this picking event and would love to see you there. Let Andy (andy@macwatson.net) know if you plan on coming unless you already have. And yes, Market share members are also welcome to come out.

Hello,

Don't forget we are doing a member tomato pick today at the farm from 3-6. If you haven't already, send us an email or call if you are heading out. We want help bringing in tomatoes and we will be sending you home with half of your pick for only $1.00/pound. We hang on to the other half for boxes this week. We have a couple types of canning/sauce tomatoes and there are other types available as well. We will show you the tomatoes and which can be picked. If you do come, wear clothes that you don't mind getting stained with tomato "tar". We can provide gloves if needed but it usually scrubs off hands pretty easily.

It's a beautiful day, hope to see you at the farm. Andy's cell # is 608-469-2319.

Hello,

There are still cooking classes available at http://shopthehouse.com/. Andy teaches almost every Monday night and they are fun. There are spots for refrigerator pickles still as well as cooking with beer, Easy Thai, Winter Squash, No Knead Bread and more. Click on the link and check the class schedule to see if there is a class that interests you. You need to call Kim at the store to sign up for one.

Thanks!

Welcome to week 13 of your CSA. I ran out of room for some info on the newsletter. The bag of baby chard/beet greens is great tossed into pasta or just dressed like a side salad. It is great mixed with chopped lettuce as well. At this size is it tender and a little sweet. We hope you are enjoying the warmer summer like weather and let's hope it brings on the bounty. Have a great weekend!

The newsletter is below.

Welcome to week 12. Hope your night was not as bat crazy as mine. Have a great weekend and try a google search for a new recipe. Try something you might not usually try, you might like it. You won't know till you try. Cooking isn't rocket science. It is supposed to be fun and you should learn something each time you try something new. Have fun in the kitchen and eat as a family. Teach your kids to cook(if you have them), have your neighbor over for a home cooked meal, be spontaneous. Catch a bat. Let it out. Thanks it for eating mosquitos. Have a great weekend. The newsletter is short, and the link is below. Thanks for letting us be your farmer.

P.S. We do have the new Fairshare cookbook for sale. We can drop them off at sites starting next week. The title is Farm Fresh and Fast and it is brand new this season. We also happen to have our red corn crib on the front cover! Take a look at it, http://www.csacoalition.org/store/farm-fresh-fast-cookbook/ You can purchase a book through us for only $20.00. thats $4.95 off the cover price! Just send us an email and we can leave one at your site. We also still have the A to Z cookbooks available. They make great Christmas/birthday presents and are only $15.00.

Hello and welcome to week 10 of your CSA! We have almost hit the halfway point of the season but it feels like May out there. What is going on with the weather? Where is the summer heat? Why so much extra rain? Oh well, that's farming. It has been pretty nice outside lately. Can't complain really. We hope you try to quick pickle some veggies this week. It's a great way to use up some leftover items or extras. Also, we are trying to move out some celery, we have a nasty leaf disease that is wiping out our celery that is usually so beautiful all season. We wanted to make sure all boxes get some before it's gone. If you still have your head from last week and don't know what to do with this one, chop the whole thing up and freeze it. It will come in handy in winter when you need some celery for a soup or stock. Just shake out a few pieces into the pot and you're done.

We hope you have a great weekend and let us know if you did any pickling. We are doing some more this weekend for sure.
