Farm Kitchen Building Video

Hello and welcome to winter!

Did I say winter? I meant winter. Darn this weather. This is part of farming that we have absolutely no control over. What we do have control over is planning and boy are we glad we didn't put out onion and broccoli transplants last week when we had the chance. We do have radish, spinach and sugar snap pea seed in the ground that should be nice and watered after the snow melts. This is the coldest April in a long time. We are about to plant our last batch of summer crops in the greenhouse and we will be planting out cold hearty crops in a week or so. The hoophouses are almost full and our farm kitchen building is moving right along.

The Spring Shares start in just under three weeks and summer shares start the first or second week of June. We will be sending out another email in the next two weeks with the Every Other Week box delivery schedule. We do still have Spring Shares available if you would like to add another four weeks to your deliveries.

We are happy to announce that we are almost done with hanging drywall in the new farm kitchen building. We have been taking advantage of the crumby weather by working in the new building. We will be throwing a make-up farm party for members in early summer since last fall was such a mess at the farm. Stay tuned for that party date.

We just finished our video collage and would love for you to see all that we have done over the last 6+ months. We couldn't have done it without support from family and friends and you members encouraging us along the way. We hope to have it up and operational by summer/fall with lots of fun events, dinners, classes, and more.

Thanks for all your support and here is the video link.

Enjoy!

Good morning!

Due to slow growing greens, really nasty looking weather tomorrow (4/14) and that we are playing catch-up on the farm, we will not be attending the first outdoor market on the square in Madison.

Stay warm and dry!

Welcome to the new year and new adventures at Sprouting Acres. We hope you had a great holiday, whatever you did and wherever you went. The website is up and running and ready for this season's signups. If you have any questions about signing up, whether you are returning or looking to join for the first time, please don't hesitate to email or call us.

We start planting in about two months in the greenhouse but we are busy now with our new venture. We put up a new building at the farm last fall and Andy has been busy building and insulating the inside space for our new on-farm commercial kitchen. We have been dreaming of this for almost 10 years and decided we aren't getting any younger. We are planning on using the kitchen for small batch processing, on farm events, seasonal dinners, and much more. We are very excited about the new projects at the farm and we hope you are too. Stay tuned for more information on the new projects.

We continued our Early Bird signup discount for the next two months as well as the Returning Member discount. Again, let us know if you have any questions about the CSA and we hope to see your name on the 2018 membership roster!
